Welcoming the next phase in the development of the new Perth High School, Cllr Caroline Shiers commented:

"I am delighted that the project to replace Perth High School today reached another important milestone. The building of a new state of the art facility for the Perth High School community is something our Administration from 2017 until 2022 was wholly committed to and which we drove forward and it is exciting to see it progress.

"I look forward to watching the build as we enter the next stage of the project and seeing it open".

Caroline has been a Councillor representing the Blairgowrie and Glens Ward since May 2007. Married to Jonathan, who runs his own joinery business, and Mum to Martha and Ben who attend a local secondary school, Caroline also works as a researcher to MSPs Murdo Fraser and Elizabeth Smith based in their office in Scone.Caroline has served since 2007 as a representative on a number of Perth and Kinross Council and local committees and is Convenor of Perth and Kinross Council’s Lifelong Learning Committee. Improving our educational standards and raising ambition, opportunities and attainment for all our young people are key priorities for Caroline.
