Transport Scotland has confirmed to Murdo Fraser MSP that additional queue warning signs will be introduced on the southbound approach to the Keir Roundabout in 2014 and 2015.
The Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP had previously raised concerns with Transport Scotland regarding the speed of traffic approaching the roundabout from the north.
Transport Scotland have also confirmed that they will be installing average speed cameras on the A9 route between Perth and Dunblane.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“There have been a number of incidents in recent years at the Keir Roundabout and it is pleasing to see Transport Scotland listen to these concerns and install extra warning signs to improve driver safety.
“Congestion at the roundabout is notorious especially during peak times and more signage will hopefully increase driver awareness and result in fewer accidents.
“The A9 between Dunblane and Perth usually averages around 25,000 vehicles per day and the installation of average speed cameras will hopefully improve road safety but also allow for the smooth movement of traffic.”
