May is Scottish agritourism month and Mid Scotland and Fife MSP, Liz Smith has stressed the importance of agritourism to the economy of the region.
Commenting Liz Smith said,
"Agritourism is a really important part of our local economy. Whether it is holiday accommodation on local farms, farm tours, opportunities to purchase farm produce direct from the farmers, or some of the new adventure sports and outdoor activities available in the countryside - it all showcases the very best that rural Scotland has to offer.
"I wish all involved in this month of promotion the very best. The agritourism sector, like tourism generally, was hit hard during the pandemic and is bouncing back to create jobs and opportunities for those who live in rural areas. It is an important contributor to the rural economy and we need to ensure we do what we can to support these businesses and individuals looking to improve the offer across Mid Scotland and Fife."
