Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, has called on fellow politicians to congratulate Alyth fish and chip shop for serving the best fish and chips in Scotland after scooping the prize at Scotland’s Business Awards.
The top gong was dished out at the grand final of Scotland’s Business Awards held at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh.
Fast food loving MSP’s have rushed to sign the motion with it already gaining cross-party support, demonstrating that nothing bridges the political divide quite like a good plate of fish and chips.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“It’s great to see the team at the Alyth chippy get proper recognition for their fabulous fish and chips. Being named the best in Scotland is a huge honour and one that is thoroughly deserved.
“However, for loyal customers the moment will be bittersweet as the queue to get your hands on a fish supper will no doubt be a lot longer.
“Perth and Kinross is a foodies paradise and hopefully this award will encourage more people to visit Alyth. I look forward to heading back to the town to enjoy a supper from the best chippy in Scotland and would encourage fellow MSP’s to do likewise.”
