Almond and Earn Ward Councillors, David Illingworth and Frank Smith have been re-selected to contest the Almond and Earn ward at the elections in May.
David was elected in 2017 and Frank was elected at the by-election held in 2021. Current Councillor Kathleen Baird will be retiring at the election.
Kathleen Baird said: "It has been a privilege to serve the residents of Almond and Earn since 2016. It is now time for me to step down and enjoy some "me" time. I wish David and Frank every success in the forthcoming council election."
Commenting David said,
"It has been a tremendous honour to have been a Councillor for Almond and Earn for the last 5 years and I'm delighted to be selected to stand again in the ward. It's more than 20 years since Kathleen Baird was first elected and it has been a pleasure to work with her over the last five years. I wish her all the best for her retirement from politics."
Frank Smith, who was elected in the by-election in March last year, added,
"I am grateful for the opportunity to be re-selected to stand as Councillor for Almond and Earn Ward and to be given the possible opportunity for supporting, once again, those within my Almond and Earn. There is a lot to be done over the coming years to deliver results for local residents and businesses as we rebuild following the pandemic. I look forward to playing my part in that."
